Andrew Nott – Headmaster, St. Hugh’s Preparatory School
The corporate film made for St. Hugh’s School is a perfect of example of how moving pictures can convey “atmosphere” in a way that a written prospectus never can. It shows the children at the school enjoying being there whether learning, playing sport or just having fun. Including testimonial interviews with parents was crucial as the main aim of the production was to dispel the worries the mothers and fathers of potential boarders might otherwise have had. This is a marketing video but viewers may note it is a very “soft sell.” This short version was placed on the school website with an offer to parents to receive a longer version by DVD, thus allowing the school to capture data relating to prospective new parents.
“To say I was delighted would be an understatement. The film is outstanding and everything we hoped it would deliver has been achieved. It is a very high quality production which strongly promotes our aims without ever appearing to be overtly promotional. It has a natural quality about it so it is like watching a television, documentary-style programme. The whole process was very straightforward, excellent value for money and we found all aspects of the service provided by Simon were of a very high standard.”
